Additional Notes: GlassMaker is currently being tested and modified for Windows Vista. If there are any problems recognizing a valid HASP connected to the USB port, install the latest version of the HASP software from the URL above restart the computer and try again. To avoid installing multiple copies of GlassMaker, be sure to remove existing copies before installing a new version. Recent Additions: GlassMaker Version 7 has a completely different look and feel that utilizes the the space on screen better. Variable configuration and immediate controls can be incorporated into main screen, allow variable contents to be visible at all times, even during program execution. Very useful for debugging. Machine control always visible allows for easy and quick manual control over the machine. A bug was fixed that will more accurately calculate pulse ratios for rotational motor applications. It is also possible to use a double reduction for motors. A new configuration utility was added to allow programming of sequences onboard motors and controller boards. This enable a controller to remember programmable sequences that can execute with a single command. A controller can be set to automatically execute a sequence when powered up. This can be useful for a serial controller proportional air system. When the machine in powered up, the proportional will be set to Vent Head - Vent Tail. In previous versions, it was possible to end up with an extra output, this problem was fixed. In previous versions, if a HASP was removed with an open program, the program would be erased, this problem was fixed. However, it is highly recommended that a HASP not be removed, especially if a system is running. To avoid confusion, GlassMaker will not relabel an output that has been unassigned. This will prevent the same name being used for multiple IOs if changes are made in the configuration. Since most PCs are now being built without DB9 COM ports and are capable of handling MANY USB ports, it is now possible to select from 16 ports, as opposed to the first 4. GlassMaker does not assist with port mapping. There are many free utilities that can help determine how your computer's comports are configured. GlassMaker has been tested with a variety of USB-DB9 adapters. Keyspan provides a variety of solutions. Some connectors may require RTS and CTS pins to be shorted, but most work out of the box. There is more information in the controller manual concerning communcation between controllers and terminals. As well as connection pin outs. 7.0.4 Manual is updated to match software, including new commands and Sequence configuration. Canceling a constant value beep entery does not crash. Motors allow for double reduction pulley ratios. Swingarms, outputs and inputs double click next and previous buttons scroll the number of devices as there are fields. New command *Answer to prompt the user to make a choice with a button dialog. New command *SetComport, allows the active comport to be changed during runtime. GlassMaker will now shrink and modify main screen for low resolutions. Immediate control will float on small screens instead of being docked. FKey keyboard setup enters the value for the correct key now. Previously saved programs are not erased when the HASP is removed during an attempted save. For more information about these changes, double click on the GlassMaker version at the top of the main screen to display a list of revision. 7.0.41 This minor revision displays a floating terminal on 800 res monitors in the center, instead of aligned with the top. Otherwise it was possible on mini monitors to cut off the control bar of the panel. The *Answer command provides more assistance in creating the command. The motor configuration is slightly smaller to better accomodate smaller screens. And doesn't allow error on attempt to double reduction with no motor. Added immediate control for burners and main control. Put the Copy word button back into immediate control word builder. Text box does not scroll for long programs when typing. Modified print routine. To make better use of the page. 7.0.5 Modified DriveReady command to avoid getting stuck on move command. Continually interrogates device at 5 second intervals. If a response is lost within 5 seconds another will be sent. Motor Configuration added units to values. Lathe Type in motor configuration only affects motor configuration. Now is motor use type. Automatially assists with calculations, Rack and Pinion exceptions must be selected manually. Now can select from Lathe types for standard reductions or XY Arm, Rotary arm with double reductions. |
